History was made at the London Olympics in 2012 when women fought for the gold in women's boxing. The matches didn't disappoint - terrific rounds of boxing were viewed across the globe. Gloria Peek, the U.S. coach stated to the N.Y. Times that “The fact is a woman’s inner strength makes this sport perfect for them. Women don’t crumble easy. They come back again and again.”
This painting is a homage to those female athletes whose strength, dedication and intention make them alluring subject for my work.

Daily Drill was selected by a jury for inclusion, and consequently won the gold medal for painting, in the Commitment to Excellence in Art and Sport exhibit at the National Art Museum of Sport hosted by Art Center Manatee, Bradenton, Florida
